Designer Flemming Lassen

The elegant 2.5-seater Ingeborg sofa was designed by Flemming Lassen in 1940 but never put into wider production. Recently rediscovered in the archives and painstakingly recreated from original sketches, it has since become a much sought-after piece in modern design circles. With its characteristic armrests, buttoned back and wooden legs, the deceptively spacious design is both beautiful to look at and comfortable to sit in. Profiling the same expression as its counterpart chair, together the two designs create a snug and embracing duo in any modern living space. The Ingeborg Sofa is available in a range of beautiful upholstery fabrics including sheepskin and bouclé. Legs are available in oak or smoked oak.

Flemming Lassen

Credited for his role in bringing functionalism to Denmark, Flemming Lassen was an architect and designed noted for his exacting craftsmanship and naïve expression. Lassen drew much of his inspiration from the architect Mies van der Rohe and the tenets of the Bauhaus artistic movement —a less is more approach focused on form, function and novel materials counterbalanced with human needs. His original and distinctive designs with timeless silhouettes still resonate today.
